The members of Angelica’s family urged her to accept herself as she is, regardless of what others might think.
Marianna painted her daughter’s face to resemble Angelica’s birthmark in the hopes that it would cheer her up.
“I got the idea from vascular birthmark awareness day, where they encourage people to paint a heart on the cheeks,” the mother reportedly told The Epoch Times. “At first, I just used my makeup to create a heart, but then I thought, why not go all out and create Angelica’s port wine stain?”
Every time someone attempted to ‘comfort’ Marianna by telling her that her daughter’s mark would eventually disappear or that she could cover it up with makeup as she grew older only made this mother feel even worse because she couldn’t help but wonder if Angelica would be forced to conceal her natural beauty rather than embrace it.
