Is the weather forecast calling for a major winter snowstorm? You can’t stop the snow from falling, but you can prevent it from accumulating on your windows with a little WD-40. Simply spray WD-40 on the outside of your windows before the snow starts, and the snow won’t stick.

Prevent wasps from building nests

Don’t let yellow jackets and wasps spoil your spring and summer fun. Their favorite place to build nests is under the eaves, so next spring, spray WD-40 under all the eaves of your house. This will prevent wasps from building their nests there.

A new coat of polyurethane can sometimes make a wood floor a little too shiny. To tone down the shine and reduce glare, spray a little WD-40 on a soft cloth and wipe the floor with it.

Keep spiders away

So, what does the WD in WD-40 stand for? Water displacement. WD-40 is primarily used as a solvent. It has lubricating properties that don’t come from the substance itself, but rather from the dissolution of components.

Worried about spiders? Simply spray a little WD-40 on areas where spiders and other insects can enter, such as windowsills and door frames. This will keep spiders and other insects out.
