To get rid of fleas for good, wash all the fabrics in the house within a few days. Thoroughly clean everything from furniture to sheets, rugs and curtains to kill existing fleas and their eggs.

Fleas usually enter the home through pets. So make sure your pets take flea medication according to your veterinarian’s instructions. You can also buy a pet flea shampoo to get rid of fleas quickly.
- Fruit Fly Traps
Fruit flies can enter the home through open doors, windows and sink drains. Mix a few drops of apple cider vinegar and detergent in a bowl or jar to catch and kill fruit flies. Cover the top with cling film and make a hole. The flies will enter the jar but will not be able to escape.
- Lemongrass.
To keep pests away from outdoor spaces, make a spray with water and a few drops of citronella essential oil. Spray it on patio furniture and decks. There are also citronella candles, but they are not as effective as essential oils.
