Have you ever noticed that your digital clock has been reset after returning from a trip?
This often means that the power has been out, but it’s hard to tell when or for how long, so you can’t be sure if your food is still good.
On Facebook, a woman named Sheila Pulanco Russell shared a handy tip on how to tell if the food in your freezer is still good after a power outage.
I heard a great tip for those of you who are leaving the beach. Sheila explains that it’s called the “one-cup tip.” “You put a cup of water in the freezer.” Once it’s frozen in the freezer, put a 25-cent coin on it and keep it there.
This simple tip will help you determine if your food is no longer good to eat.
