Even though I’m trying to make some healthier versions, mashed potatoes are still a beloved staple in our home. However, everything changed when TikTok user Jourdyn (@jeauxp) suggested using chicken stock.
Did Jourdyn twist it? Using a combination of chicken stock and water, boil potatoes while they still have their skins on. Curious, I thought I’d give it a go.
And what was the outcome? The broth imparts a delicate umami flavor to the potatoes, while the peels provide a rustic texture.
Inspiring myself, I made another batch and elevated the taste and appearance by adding sour cream and chives.
But that wasn’t the end of my gastronomic journey on TikTok…
