  • 1 cup shredded sharp cheddar cheese
  • ½ cup crispy fried onions (like French’s)
  • ¼ tsp garlic powder (optional)
  • Freshly ground black pepper (to taste)

Instructions:

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Mix the shredded cheddar, crispy onions, garlic powder, and black pepper in a bowl.
  3. Scoop heaping tablespoons of the mixture onto the baking sheet, spacing them out. Gently flatten each mound a bit.
  4. Bake for 6–8 minutes, or until the edges are golden and crispy.
  5. Cool on the sheet for a few minutes, then transfer to a paper towel to drain and crisp up fully.

Tips:

  • Want a spicy kick? Add a pinch of cayenne.
  • Store in an airtight container once completely cooled.

Note: These crispy onion cheddar chips are best enjoyed fresh, but they can be stored in an airtight container for up to 2 days. For extra crispiness, you can reheat them in the oven for a few minutes before serving.
