The human papillomavirus (HPV) is primarily known for causing genital warts and cervical canc3r, but it can also infect the throat, specifically the oropharynx. This virus, known as oropharyngeal HPV, has been scientifically established to cause major health concerns if not treated early.
Main signs of HPV in the throat.
Many persons who have been infected with HPV in their throat may not feel any symptoms right away. However, when they occur, the major symptoms are:
- A persistent sore throat.
- Difficulty swallowing
- Changes in voice or hoarseness
- Feeling like something is trapped in my throat.
- Ear ache without an obvious infection.
- Neck swelling (which could indicate enlarged glands).
- Unexplained weight loss
