3) When the oven is hot, turn it off.

4) Place a baking dish filled with vinegar on the top plate. Then pour a pot of water into the bottom of the oven and close the oven.

(You can also boil water with vinegar directly and put it in the oven.)

5) You will have to leave it overnight. There is nothing else to do at the moment!

6) The next day, open the oven door to release the vinegar fumes. Don’t hesitate to open the window if the smell bothers you.

7) Then take out the pot of water and collect the jar of vinegar. Add dishwashing liquid and use this product to scrub the various parts of the oven (walls, etc.). Then you can rinse and dry.

However, it is not recommended to mix it with baking soda, because the two products neutralize each other (hence the foam). However, you can sprinkle baking soda directly on the oven and scrub with a sponge soaked in vinegar. This will be more effective, because they will have less time to neutralize, and you will be able to take advantage of the “mechanical” action of the foam on the dirt!

Why is this tip so good for cleaning the oven?

Vinegar alone is already very effective in degreasing and removing stains from the oven, especially if it is preheated. Boiling water, but also preheating the oven, will allow the vinegar vapors to be produced, which will act here for several hours. This will soften and melt the grease left in the oven.

Good to know: if you don’t have vinegar, lemon juice will have the same properties and will have the advantage of smelling better. You can also heat a bowl of water with vinegar or lemon in the microwave to clean it.
