A simple trick that saved me 10 cubic meters of water per month (Page 2 ) | April 9, 2025

When I thought about it, I decided to check for myself how our meter worked. I did it simply: I memorized the last digit on the meter, poured three liters of water into a glass, and checked the changes. The meter worked perfectly.

However, I noticed that we have very high water pressure in our apartment, which is why the flow rate was higher than necessary. I decided to reduce the amount a little by turning off the faucets by half. This had no effect on our lifestyle, except that the water in the bathroom filled a little more slowly.

A month has passed, and we’ve been able to reduce our consumption to 37 cubic meters of water, which is still a lot, but already better than the previous result. I’m still looking for ways to save up to 5 cubic meters per person, although I’ve been told that partially closing the ball valves can accelerate their wear. But I’m not sure yet.
