Directions
1. Preheat your oven to 325°F (165°C).
2. Place the ham in a roasting pan, cut side down.
3. In a medium saucepan, combine the honey, brown sugar, Dijon mustard, apple cider vinegar, cinnamon, cloves, nutmeg, and ginger. Heat over medium heat, stirring until the sugar is dissolved and the mixture is smooth.
4. Brush the glaze over the ham, ensuring it is evenly coated.
5. Cover the ham loosely with aluminum foil and bake for about 2 hours, basting with the glaze every 30 minutes.
6. Remove the foil and bake for an additional 30 minutes, or until the glaze is caramelized and the ham is heated through.
Let the ham rest for 10-15 minutes before slicing and serving.
Variations & Tips
For a different flavor profile, try adding a splash of bourbon or orange juice to the glaze. You can also experiment with different spices, such as allspice or cardamom, to suit your taste. If you prefer a less sweet glaze, reduce the amount of honey and brown sugar, and increase the mustard for a tangier finish. For a smoky twist, consider using smoked paprika in the glaze. Remember, the key to a great glaze is balancing the sweet and savory elements, so feel free to adjust the ingredients to your liking
