Instructions:
Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
In a large skillet, brown the ground beef or turkey over medium heat. Drain excess fat.
Add the onions, garlic, and bell peppers to the skillet, cooking until softened (about 5-7 minutes).
Stir in the uncooked rice, marinara sauce, diced tomatoes, broth, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper.
Bring the mixture to a simmer and cook for 5 minutes, stirring occasionally.
Transfer the mixture to a greased 9×13-inch baking dish.
Cover with foil and bake for 35-40 minutes, until the rice is tender.
Remove the foil, sprinkle the shredded cheese on top, and bake for another 10 minutes until the cheese is melted.
Let the casserole sit for a few minutes before serving. Enjoy!
