Instructions:
Prepare the baguettes:
Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
Cut the baguettes in half lengthwise and hollow out the center, leaving a 1 cm (½ inch) border. Save the removed bread for another use (like breadcrumbs).
Cook the minced meat filling:
Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat.
Sauté the onion until soft, then add the garlic and cook for another minute.
Add the minced meat, breaking it up with a spatula. Cook until browned.
Season with paprika, oregano, thyme, salt, and pepper. Mix well and cook for 2 more minutes. Remove from heat.
Assemble the baguette boats:
In a bowl, mix the cooked meat with shredded Havarti cheese, fresh parsley, and optional sour cream or egg for extra richness.
Fill the hollowed-out baguettes with the mixture, pressing gently to pack it in.
Sprinkle extra Havarti on top for a golden, cheesy crust.
Bake to perfection:
Brush the edges of the baguettes with melted butter for a crispier crust.
Place the filled baguettes on a baking sheet and bake for 10-12 minutes, or until the cheese is fully melted and slightly golden.
Serve and enjoy:
Let them cool slightly before slicing into portions.
Serve with a fresh salad, dipping sauce, or enjoy as they are!
Tips & Variations:
Spicy Kick: Add chopped jalapeños or chili flakes.
Extra Cheesy: Mix Havarti with mozzarella for a gooey texture.
Make-Ahead: Prepare the filling in advance for a quick assembly.
Vegetarian Option: Swap meat for sautéed mushrooms and spinach.
Enjoy your cheesy baguette boats—crispy, cheesy, and packed with flavor!
