Loaded, cheesy potatoes are the perfect comfort food. Not only are they delicious, but they’re also easy to make—using just a muffin tray! With a few simple ingredients—potatoes, butter, garlic, salt, and pepper—you can create the most amazing cheesy potatoes. Plus, they’re easily adaptable to whatever you have on hand. Follow these simple tips, and you’ll have the perfect cheesy potatoes in no time!
Ingredients
Potatoes: For best results, use Yukon Golds, red potatoes, or russet potatoes for fluffy interiors and crispy textures.
Butter: Use unsalted or salted butter, depending on your preference.
Garlic: Fresh, crushed garlic works best for flavor.
Seasoning: Salt and pepper to taste.
Cheese: Mozzarella or your favorite cheese for topping.
Instructions
Prepare the Potatoes:
Wash, dry, and quarter the potatoes.
Place the potato quarters in a muffin tin.
Top each quarter with a cube of butter, crushed garlic, salt, and pepper.
Bake:
Bake the potatoes at 180°C (350°F) for 50 minutes.
In the last 10 minutes of baking, sprinkle cheese on top and return to the oven until melted and bubbly.
Tips
Leave the Skin On: There’s no need to peel the potatoes; they taste even better with the skin on. Just be sure to wash them thoroughly with a vegetable brush.
Experiment with Seasonings: Feel free to use other spices such as fajita or taco seasoning, Italian herbs, or Cajun spice.
Add Protein: For a heartier dish, mix in crispy bacon bits or smoked chicken pieces at the same time you add the cheese.
Spice It Up: Add freshly sliced chilies if you enjoy a bit of heat.
