36 years ago, Tracy Pollan stood by Michael J. Fox as they exchanged vows, committing to stand by each other through the best and worst of times, in sickness and in health. Little did they know that just a few years into their marriage, this promise would be put to the ultimate test.
In the prime of his youth, Fox was diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease, a reality that would challenge the couple’s resilience. Yet, Pollan’s unwavering support has been a constant, with Fox recently opening up about the depth of their connection and the integral role his wife has played in his journey.
Through the public lens, Michael J. Fox transformed from the ambitious Alex P. Keaton and the adventurous Marty McFly into an advocate and a fighter against Parkinson’s. The pivot came in the wake of his diagnosis, which threatened to clip his wings at a time when his career was taking flight.
