  3. Rub olive oil all over and season with salt and pepper to taste.
  4. Poke small holes in the potatoes using a fork to facilitate moisture release during cooking.
  5. Transfer the oiled and seasoned potatoes to a prepared microwave-safe plate.
  6. Microwave one potato for 5 minutes at 100% power. Add additional potatoes and microwave for an extra 2 minutes for each addition.
  7. Continue microwaving for 1 more minute until the potatoes are fork-tender.
  8. Remove the potatoes from the microwave and slice them lengthwise.
