Unfortunately, most of those news outlets simply repeated the lie in their headlines, as if that was the whole story. Some made it clear that Donald lost the 2020 election in the body of these articles, but many didn’t. Which is exactly what Trump wants.
Robert Moran of The Philadelphia Inquirer showed how easy it is to properly report on these kinds of lies, with his piece titled: “JD Vance falsely claims at Pa. rally that Donald Trump didn’t lose the 2020 election.” I guess the rest of the Press didn’t get the memo.
Time and time again, by simply repeating MAGA’s falsehoods in their headlines, the Press has given credence to these lies, while creating division, fear, and mistrust in our elections. Trump and Vance are planting a seed to challenge the election results, and the Press is helping it grow by spreading the lies unchecked.
