Bake in a double boiler:
Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Place the mold in a large baking dish and fill the pan with hot water until it covers half of the flan mold.
Bake for 50-60 minutes, or until a knife inserted in the center comes out clean.
Cool and remove from the mold:
Let the flan cool to room temperature and then refrigerate for at least 4 hours (preferably overnight).
To remove from the mold, run a knife around the edges and invert the flan onto a large plate.
Serve:
Cut into slices and serve with fresh fruit or an extra drizzle of caramel.
