- Begin by rinsing the dried fruits in cold water to remove any preservatives and activate their nutrients. Soak them for 15-20 minutes.
- While the fruits are soaking, gather all the nuts and seeds and give them a quick chop to make them easier to mix into the bars. You can chop them as finely or coarsely as you prefer.
- Once the fruits have soaked, drain the water and pat them dry using a clean cloth or paper towel. This will help remove excess moisture.
- Now, itβs time to bring all the ingredients together. In a food processor or blender, combine the soaked fruits, chopped nuts, seeds, and a pinch of salt. Blend everything together until you have a sticky mixture.
- Next, prepare a baking dish by lining it with parchment paper. This will prevent the bars from sticking to the dish.
- Transfer the mixture into the prepared baking dish and press it down firmly using the back of a spoon or your hands. Make sure it is evenly spread and compacted.
- Sprinkle some sesame seeds on top of the mixture for a lovely garnish. Press them lightly into the mixture to make sure they stick.
- Place the dish in the refrigerator and let it chill for at least 2 hours, or until the mixture is firm and holds its shape.
- Once the bars have set, remove them from the refrigerator and carefully lift them out of the dish using the edges of the parchment paper.
- Cut the mixture into desired bar shapes and sizes. You can make them into rectangles, squares, or even bite-sized energy balls.
- Your homemade energy bars are now ready to devour! Store them in an airtight container or wrap them individually for a grab-and-go snack anytime.
