- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and spray a skillet with cooking spray. Heat it over high heat and add diced onions, roasting for a couple of minutes.
- Add garlic and ground beef to the skillet, browning the beef. Once done, reduce the heat to medium and season with salt, pepper, and oregano.
- Add peas, rice, tomato sauce, 1 cup of cheese, and chicken broth to the skillet. Let it simmer for around three minutes, ensuring everything is well-mixed.
- Transfer the mixture to a casserole dish and place it in the oven.
- Bake at 350°F (175°C) for about 15 minutes or until the mixture is heated through and starts to bubble.
- Remove from the oven. In a bowl, whisk together sour cream and the remaining cheese until fully combined.
- Pour the sour cream and cheese mixture over the top of the casserole. Bake for another 15 minutes or until the cheese melts and the casserole starts to bubble.
