Prepare the Filling:
In a bowl, combine the ground pork (or shrimp) with the soy sauce, sesame oil, chopped green onions, grated ginger, and minced garlic. Mix thoroughly until the ingredients are well combined and the mixture has a smooth consistency.
Assemble the Dumplings:
Lay out a dumpling wrapper on a clean surface. Place about 1 teaspoon of the filling in the center of the wrapper. Be careful not to overstuff. Moisten the edges of the wrapper with a little water, then fold the wrapper over to seal the filling inside. Pinch the edges together tightly, pleating if desired, to ensure the dumpling is sealed well.
Steam the Dumplings:
Bring a pot of water to a boil and place a steamer basket (lined with parchment paper or lightly oiled) over the pot. Arrange the dumplings in a single layer in the basket, making sure they don’t touch. Steam the dumplings for about 10-12 minutes, or until they are fully cooked through and the wrappers are tender.
Serve:
Once steamed, remove the dumplings from the steamer and serve immediately with soy sauce or your favorite dipping sauce. Enjoy your delicious homemade Dim Sum! 🥢🍤
These dumplings are packed with savory, umami flavors from the pork or shrimp, soy sauce, and sesame oil, making them the perfect bite-sized treat. Great for a light meal or appetizer!
