1. Turn Off the Heating
Before you start cleaning, ensure that the heating system is turned off to avoid burns and ensure a safe cleaning process.
2. Dust and Vacuum
Dust the Surface: Use a soft cloth to wipe down the exterior surfaces of the radiator.
Vacuum the Crevices: Use a vacuum cleaner with a brush attachment to remove dust and debris from between the fins.
3. Prepare Cleaning Solution
In a bucket, mix warm water with a mild detergent. If you prefer, you can also use a commercial radiator cleaner.
4. Wipe Down the Radiator
Dampen a Cloth: Dip a cloth into the cleaning solution, wring it out, and wipe the exterior and top of the radiator.
Use a Brush for Crevices: For hard-to-reach areas, use an old toothbrush or a cleaning brush to scrub between the fins gently.
