Prepare the Dough:
In a large mixing bowl, combine the flour, sugar, yeast, and salt. Add the warm milk, melted butter, and egg. Mix until the dough comes together, then knead on a floured surface for 8-10 minutes until smooth and elastic (or use a stand mixer with a dough hook). Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover, and let it rise in a warm place for 1 hour or until doubled in size.
Prepare the Cinnamon Filling:
In a medium bowl, mix the granulated sugar, brown sugar, and cinnamon.
Shape the Dough:
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×5-inch loaf pan. Roll out the dough into a 9×12-inch rectangle on a floured surface. Brush the melted butter over the dough, then sprinkle the cinnamon sugar mixture evenly on top.
Form the Loaf:
Roll the dough tightly from the short side into a log. Place the log into the prepared loaf pan, seam side down. Using a knife, cut slashes about 1 inch apart into the top of the loaf, being careful not to cut all the way through.
Bake:
Bake for 30-35 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and the bread sounds hollow when tapped. Let the bread cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
Make the Icing:
In a small bowl, whisk together powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla extract until smooth. Drizzle the icing generously over the cooled bread.
Serve:
Slice and serve warm for the ultimate Dollywood-inspired treat!
