1. Start by boiling the water in a small pot. Once it reaches a boil, add the cloves and allow them to boil for about one minute. Remove the pot from the heat, cover it, and let the cloves steep for about 10 minutes so they can release their natural repellent properties.
2. In a separate bowl, combine the liquid detergent with the alcohol or apple cider vinegar.
3. Once the clove infusion has cooled, mix it into the detergent and alcohol (or vinegar) blend.
4. Stir thoroughly to ensure all the ingredients are well combined. Transfer the finished mixture into a spray bottle and shake gently before each use.
