1. In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the chopped onion and garlic, sautéing until the onion is translucent.
2. Add the ground beef to the skillet, cooking until browned and crumbled. Drain any excess fat.
3. Stir in the tomato sauce, diced tomatoes, Worcestershire sauce, oregano, basil, salt, and pepper. Bring to a simmer and let it cook for about 15 minutes, allowing the flavors to meld.
4. Meanwhile, cook the egg noodles according to package instructions. Drain and set aside.
5. Combine the cooked noodles with the beef and tomato sauce, stirring until well coated.
6. Serve hot, topped with grated Parmesan cheese.
Variations & Tips
For a bit of heat, add a pinch of red pepper flakes to the sauce. You can also substitute ground turkey or chicken for a lighter version. For added vegetables, toss in some chopped bell peppers or mushrooms with the onions. If you prefer a creamier sauce, stir in a dollop of sour cream or cream cheese just before serving.
