The Heartbreaking Call
On a routine Wednesday afternoon, Darcy received a distressing call from Grandma Madeline. The cheerful anticipation of celebrating her birthday quickly turned into a sobering reality. Grandma Madeline’s voice trembled with sadness as she revealed that her family had refused to attend her party. “They said they do not want to go to a cheap janitor’s party,” she lamented.
Darcy was devastated. The notion that her family could be so callous towards someone as kind and hardworking as Grandma Madeline was unacceptable. “They have no right to treat you like that!” Darcy exclaimed. Determined to make things right, Darcy promised to attend the party and confront the rest of her family.
