Instructions
Step 1: Prepare the Bread and Ingredients
Butter the Bread: Spread a thin layer of softened butter on one side of each slice of bread. This will help create a crispy, golden crust when grilling.
Add Dijon Mustard (Optional): If you’re using Dijon mustard, spread a thin layer on the unbuttered side of one bread slice.
Step 2: Assemble the Sandwich
Layer Turkey and Cheese: Place one slice of bread, buttered side down, on a cutting board. Layer the turkey slices on top, followed by the cheese slices. Season lightly with salt and pepper if desired.
Top with Second Slice of Bread: Place the second slice of bread on top, with the buttered side facing up.
Step 3: Grill the Sandwich
Heat a Skillet: Place a skillet or griddle over medium heat and allow it to warm up for a minute or two.
Grill the Sandwich: Place the assembled sandwich in the skillet. Cook for 3–4 minutes per side, or until the bread is golden brown and the cheese is melted. Press down gently with a spatula to ensure even cooking.
Flip Carefully: Use a spatula to flip the sandwich carefully and grill the other side until it’s equally golden and the cheese is fully melted.
Serving Suggestions
Cut your Grilled Turkey and Cheese Sandwich in half and serve with a side of tomato soup, a fresh green salad, or a handful of crispy chips. For a little extra flavor, add a slice of tomato or a few fresh spinach leaves before grilling.
Enjoy this quick, comforting sandwich, perfect any time of the day!
