Instructions:
1. Prepare the bread:
Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
Slice the loaf of bread in half lengthwise. Hollow out the inside of both halves, leaving about a half-inch of bread around the edges. (You can save the bread you hollow out for croutons or breadcrumbs.)
2. Make the filling:
In a bowl, combine the shredded mozzarella cheese, chopped ham, garlic powder, oregano, salt, and pepper. If you like a little tang, add the Dijon mustard for extra flavor and creaminess.
Mix everything together until well combined.
3. Stuff the bread:
Generously fill each half of the bread with the ham and cheese mixture, pressing down gently to pack it in.
4. Bake the stuffed bread:
Brush the top of the bread with melted butter and sprinkle a little more oregano on top for a fragrant finish.
Place the stuffed bread halves on a baking sheet and bake for 15-20 minutes, or until the cheese is melted, bubbly, and golden brown.
5. Serve and enjoy:
Once baked, remove the bread from the oven and let it cool slightly before slicing into individual pieces.
Garnish with fresh parsley, slice, and serve warm.
This Ham and Cheese Stuffed Bread is perfect for parties, picnics, or even as a quick and hearty snack for a cozy night in. The gooey cheese combined with the savory ham inside soft, crusty bread—simply irresistible!
