• Add water to the steamer to boil. Steam the beans for about 40-50 minutes or until tender.
Divide the beans into half a kilo each for our 2 cooking methods. Set aside half.
Set A
• In a pan, add 3 cups of water and sugar. Stir to dissolve. Add the steamed beans.
Stir occasionally while cooking to cook evenly.
Cook until the syrup dries up. Remove from the pan.
Place on a large or wide tray with parchment paper or paper towel. Let it cool.
Set B
• In a pan put 3 cups of water and sugar. Stir to dissolve. Add the steamed beans. Add flavor or color as desired. (This process is optional)
If you want the candy to be flavored.
Cook until the syrup dries up. Remove from the pan.
Place on a large or wide tray with parchment paper or paper towel. Let it cool.
• Take a strainer, put the candy beans and add powdered sugar. Sift together.
