Small accidents can happen everywhere and on a daily basis. Sometimes due to poor maintenance, manufacturing defects or too much haste. One of the most common accidents is when keys break and get stuck in the lock .
The worst part of this problem is that if it happens with your house keys, you can’t postpone the solution. Before calling a locksmith, you can try these tricks to remove a broken key in the lock without having to disassemble everything .
First trick
All you need is a very strong magnet. If the key is stuck in the upright position, it will be very easy to remove it.
Put a little bit of lubricant on it, then take the magnet and place it on the key to let it work. The key should stick to the magnet and come off easily.
Second trick
You will need a pair of needle-nose pliers or scissors with very thin tips. Lubricate the area around the key, then grab the end of the key that is sticking out of the lock with the pliers or scissors.
