How to remove stains from the mattress?

Urine and sweat stains

Urine and sweat stains discolor the mattress, appearing as yellow stains that eventually start to smell like mildew after a while. To remove them once and for all, a surefire solution is to mix  1 cup of 3% hydrogen peroxide  or hydrogen peroxide  with a few drops of dishwashing liquid in a bowl.  After stirring the solution thoroughly to dissolve the baking soda powder, pour it into a spray bottle and spray it on the stained area of ​​the mattress. It is best to let the mixture sit for a few minutes before air drying the mattress for about an hour. Also, using a hair dryer can be handy if you want to speed up the drying process.

Blood stains

In this case, you have to be quite reactive if you want to remove a blood stain before it dries. To do this, you can quickly prepare  a cleaning solution based on hydrogen peroxide  to pour into a spray bottle and apply immediately to the stain in question. You will then sponge the stain using delicate but firm movements until it disappears completely. Finally, let it air dry.

Red wine stains

Removing red wine stains is not easy, especially when they have had time to set into the fabric of the mattress. The best thing to do is to act immediately. To do this, take a clean cloth and blot the area to remove as much of the wine as you can. Then continue by dabbing a damp cloth on the stained area  before sprinkling salt on it to absorb the remaining wine.  Three minutes later, dab the mark again with a cloth soaked in cold water and let it dry.

Apart from these cleaning methods, regular maintenance of the mattress remains essential to improve its durability. In addition, and if necessary, it is useful to know how often you should replace it as well as your pillows and duvet.
