What About If You Have Your Groceries Delivered?
Perhaps you always order your groceries, for example, from Albert Heijn, Jumbo, or Picnic. In this case, your groceries arrive in crates or plastic bags. You also pay a deposit on these crates and bags, as well as on the deposit cans and bottles. You can store your empty cans in these bags and crates. During your next delivery, you can hand them over to the delivery person, and you’ll get your deposit back.
At Albert Heijn, you can return up to 50 empty cans and bottles per order, with a maximum of 25 per package. At Jumbo, you can return up to 20 cans without notice. If you have more, you need to inform them 1 day before delivery. Picnic allows a maximum of 99 deposit cans or bottles per order. Picnic adds a small note: “The delivery person may say they can’t take everything if the van is too full, but generally, it should work out fine.”
