1. For  the first method of use , cut a sponge into small pieces.

2. Place them at the base of a pot and add soil on top. Then, plant the plant. The sponge will serve as a permanent source of liquid for its roots, so it will never dry out.

3.  The second benefit of sponges is saving liquid fertilizers . As far as you know, some of these solutions simply drain through the pot’s drainage holes. But having a shredded sponge at the base will absorb all the liquid and store it for the plant. It will take as much as it needs through the roots.
