At last, I contacted a plumber.
Arriving solemn and quiet was an old master. He retrieved a box of matches from his pocket while attentively listening to my concerns. Tossed one into the toilet after lighting it. I was really taken aback.
An efficient treatment for toilet smells, according to the plumber, is a burnt match. The sulfur’s unique characteristics—found at the match’s base—hold the key. It works wonders on a wide range of smells, especially those associated with toilets.
