3. A hidden camera: your privacy at risk

The idea of ​​a  hidden camera  filming a hotel room is scary, but the  risk is real . Some  malicious individuals  install discreet devices to  spy on guests without their knowledge .

How to detect these cameras?

Before you turn on the lights or insert your power board, take  a few minutes to examine  the room:

• Check  electrical outlets, smoke detectors, televisions and bedside lamps .
• A  small red light or infrared light  in an unusual location can be a  suspicious clue .

Effective tip  : Use  your phone’s flashlight  to scan the room.  If a small, strange light reflection appears inside a suspicious object, it could be a camera lens .

If in doubt, don’t take any risks  :  leave the hotel immediately  and  notify the relevant authorities .
