At 94, Clint Eastwood remains a powerhouse in Hollywood, known for his classic films and unfiltered opinions. The announcement of the boycott came just days after ABC aired content that Eastwood’s alliance viewed as overly focused on political correctness and progressive messaging, which they believe is stifling creativity and alienating audiences. According to Eastwood, ABC has become a network that no longer supports a wide range of artistic expression, instead leaning heavily into what he calls “woke ideals.”
“They’ve lost a lot of talent with this,” Eastwood said in a statement. “Many actors, writers, and directors want to create work that reflects a variety of perspectives, not just the narrative being pushed by woke culture. ABC doesn’t seem to want that anymore, and that’s their loss.”
