Prepare the dough:
Flour, yeast, sugar, and salt Mix.
Add water and olive oil and knead into a smooth dough.
Let it rise for about 1 hour, until it has doubled in size.
Preheat oven to 200°C (top/bottom heat).
Roll out the dough on a floured surface into a rectangle (approx. 40×30 cm).
Filling:
Spread tomato sauce over the dough (not all the way to the edges).
Layer with toppings: salami, cheese, vegetables, herbs.
Fold in the sides, then roll up from the long side like a strudel.
Bake:
Brush with egg, sprinkle with sesame seeds or herbs.
Place on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper and bake for about 25-30 minutes until golden brown.

You can also fill Stromboli with vegetarian ingredients – e.g., spinach, ricotta, mushrooms, or artichokes.
