Widely celebrated as one of the greatest actors of his generation, Jones was among the elite few to achieve EGOT status, having won an Emmy, Grammy, Oscar, and Tony Award. His accolades include two Primetime Emmy Awards, a Daytime Emmy, a spoken-word Grammy Award in 1977, and three Tony Awards. In 2012, he was honored with an Honorary Academy Award.
Jones’ film career began with a role in Stanley Kubrick’s classic Dr. Strangelove or: How I Learned to Stop Worrying and Love the Bomb in 1964. He went on to appear in some of cinema’s most successful and beloved films.
