Gradually whisk in milk and cook for 5 minutes until the sauce thickens.
Add shredded cheddar cheese to the sauce and stir until melted. Season with salt and garlic pepper.
Pour the cheese sauce into the large pot with the vegetables. Stir until well combined.
Adjust consistency with more milk if desired. Season with additional salt and pepper to taste.
Serve warm, topped with bacon pieces.
