Directions
Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
In a medium bowl, mix the softened cream cheese, granulated sugar, and vanilla extract until smooth and creamy.
Unroll the crescent roll dough and separate it into triangles.
Spread a thin layer of the cream cheese mixture over each triangle, leaving a small border around the edges.
Sprinkle a few blueberries and a pinch of lemon zest over the cream cheese layer.
Starting from the wide end, roll up each triangle and place them on the prepared baking sheet.
Brush the tops of the rolls with melted butter.
Bake in the preheated oven for 12-15 minutes, or until golden brown.
Allow the rolls to cool slightly before dusting with powdered sugar, if desired.
Variations & Tips
For a different flavor profile, try using raspberries or strawberries in place of blueberries. You can also add a sprinkle of cinnamon to the cream cheese mixture for a warm spice note. If you prefer a more decadent roll, drizzle a simple glaze made from powdered sugar and milk over the top after baking. For a savory twist, omit the sugar and vanilla in the cream cheese mixture and add a pinch of salt and fresh herbs like chives or dill.
