Why Use Vaseline?
Vaseline, also called petroleum jelly, is famous for its ability to protect and moisturize the skin. Even though it doesn’t contain whitening ingredients, it can protect your teeth from getting stained. By using a shield, you can decrease the number of substances that can stain your teeth during the day.
How to Use Vaseline to Make Your Teeth Whiter:
- Clean Your Teeth: Brush your teeth well with your usual toothpaste. Flossing is very important because it helps remove food bits and plaque that can cause stains and cavities.
- Dry Your Teeth: Use a clean cloth or paper towel to dry your teeth. This is a crucial step because Vaseline sticks better to dry surfaces.
- Apply Vaseline: With a clean finger or a cotton swab, put a tiny bit of Vaseline on the front of your teeth. Make sure to apply Vaseline to all visible parts of your teeth, but be careful not to get it on your gums or tongue because it should not be swallowed. The coating should be thin; using too much can feel uncomfortable and won’t provide any extra benefits.
- Keep It On: Keep the Vaseline on your teeth for around 3 minutes. Try to avoid touching your lips to your teeth as best as you can.
- Remove the Vaseline: After 3 minutes, use a clean cloth or paper towel to gently remove the Vaseline. Do not rinse with water or mouthwash, as this can spread the substance in your mouth.
- Repeat the Process: To achieve the best results, you can repeat this process twice a day – once in the morning and once at night. It works best when used consistently as part of your dental care routine.
