Heat a medium pot over medium-high heat.
Add ground beef, pepper, garlic powder, and salt. Stir to combine and cook until browned.
Add diced onion, stir, and sauté for 1 minute.
Add longaniza or Mexican chorizo to the pot. Cook, stirring and breaking into chunks until fully cooked.
Add Roma tomatoes, stir to combine. Then add paprika and cumin, and stir again.
Add pinto beans and their cooking liquid. Stir to combine.
