The funds can be used for security deposits, moving expenses, and household necessities.
The pilot program, which began in December, aims to reduce barriers to obtaining housing by assisting with upfront costs. Over the past seven months, 150 households have received this assistance. The city is using existing funds from within the Department of Homeless Services (DHS) rather than allocating new city funds.
