Directions:
Prepare the Meat Sauce
In a large skillet, cook the ground beef over medium heat until browned.
Add the chopped onion and minced garlic, cooking until softened.
Stir in the crushed tomatoes, tomato sauce, tomato paste, sugar, and Italian seasoning.
Season with salt and pepper to taste.
Let the sauce simmer for about 30 minutes, stirring occasionally.
Prepare the Cheese Mixture
In a bowl, combine ricotta cheese, grated Parmesan cheese, chopped basil, and beaten eggs.
Mix well until fully combined.
Preheat the Oven
Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
Assemble the Lasagna
Spread a layer of meat sauce in the bottom of a 9×13-inch baking dish.
Lay four lasagna noodles over the sauce.
Spread a third of the ricotta cheese mixture evenly over the noodles.
Sprinkle a third of the shredded mozzarella cheese on top.
Add another layer of meat sauce.
Repeat the layering process two more times.
Bake
Cover the lasagna with foil and bake for 25 minutes.
Remove the foil and bake for an additional 25 minutes, or until the lasagna is hot and bubbly.
Serve
Let the lasagna stand for 10 minutes before slicing.
Garnish with fresh parsley and serve warm.
