While they may have looked rough, the chairs were still strong and well-made. We saw potential in them and decided to take on the challenge of restoring them, not just for practical use but to give them a fresh, artistic makeover.
Step 1: Cleaning and Restoring
We started by stripping off the old varnish, sanding down the rough patches, and repairing any small cracks. Once the wood was exposed, we couldn’t believe how stunning it looked—this natural beauty was hidden under all those years of wear. Our excitement grew as we saw the potential in each chair.
Step 2: Adding Color and Character
Chair #1: This chair received a soft lavender makeover. The calming purple tone gave it a serene, welcoming look, ideal for a quiet reading nook.
Chairs #2 & #3: We chose vibrant green for these chairs, but we didn’t stop there. We hand-painted tropical plants and colorful parrots on the seats, transforming them into lively, exotic art pieces.
Chair #4: This one got the boldest change of all! With a bright yellow base and intricate blue Moroccan-style patterns, this chair became a true statement piece in the room.
