The hashtag #WeStandWithTaylor quickly gained traction, with fans posting messages of support and vowing to follow Swift on every platform possible. “We won’t let Trump tear down Taylor!” one fan tweeted. “We’ll follow her on everything, even MySpace if we have to!”
The Swiftie resistance was fierce, but despite their best efforts, they couldn’t stop the bleeding. As much as they tried to rally, the unfollow numbers continued to rise, leaving even the most die-hard fans feeling like they were fighting a losing battle.
“We’re doing our best to fight back,” said one fan in a TikTok video, tears streaming down her face. “But it’s like, no matter what we do, people keep unfollowing her. This isn’t fair. She doesn’t deserve this.”
For Donald Trump, the fallout from his post was nothing short of a personal triumph. Never one to miss an opportunity to gloat, Trump quickly returned to Truth Social to bask in the chaos he had unleashed.
“Told you she was overrated,” Trump posted, followed by a string of exclamation points and emojis that included a laughing face, an American flag, and a thumbs down. “Millions of people are finally waking up to the fact that Taylor Swift is not the hero they thought she was. Sad!”
