Even though this is an upbeat message, I see that some of you fail to grasp the broader context. No matter whether I’m in uniform or not, as an officer I do not expect anything to be free when I enter any institution. Other cops share this sentiment. Nothing says “special treatment” to us. The message was made because KFC is showing its appreciation to the police. Whoever said that more first responders need to likewise be recognized is correct. What am I going to say? Without a doubt.
Despite the significant media attention, the sign will still be displayed at the business.
We applaud the policemen who risk their lives every day and want them to know how much we value their sacrifice.
