In her documentary Miss Americana, Taylor Swift adressed her struggles with body image and how she managed the public’s perceptions of her.

The superstar revealed how harsh she could be on herself upon seeing photos of her. She sometimes thought her “tummy was too big,” and when rumors about her being pregnant swirled, it triggered her to “just starve a little bit.”
“If you’re thin enough, then you don’t have that ass … everybody wants. But if you have enough weight … to have an ass, your stomach isn’t flat enough,” Swift said.
Taylor’s willingness to address these issues is incredibly important, as they affect many young women today. Social media certainly plays a role in this, but the conversation about women’s body ideals has been ongoing for many years.
Hopefully, Taylor’s words will help inspire and support many individuals in their own journeys toward self-acceptance and body positivity.
