Heat a nail on the end of a toothpick and use it to poke a few small holes into the bottle body. Then open the toilet cistern lid and place the water bottle inside. Close the cistern lid again.
If the lid is tightly closed and there’s no impact, the water in the bottle won’t spill. However, when you press the flush button, the bleach solution in the plastic bottle will slowly flow out under the force of the water jet.
The bleach solution helps remove, disinfect, and refresh dirt over a long period of time, saving you time on cleaning.
More tips for cleaning your toilet
In addition to using a bottle of bleach as described above, you can also clean and deodorize your toilet using other methods.
There is a very simple way to use a bar of soap.
Simply take a small bar of soap, put it in a thin sock and tie the hole of the sock.
Then pour the soapy water into the cistern. Make sure the soap doesn’t sink to the bottom. Place one end of the sock on the rim of the cistern and cover it with the lid so that the sock floats in the water. The soap will slowly dissolve in the water. When you flush the toilet, the soapy water will flow out, helping to remove dirt and odors.
