Pollinators, such as bees, butterflies, hummingbirds, and bats, play a key role in transferring pollen from plant to plant. However, in recent decades, pollinator populations have declined due to habitat loss, pesticide use and climate change.

Types of Pollinators:

– Bees (Apidae): they are the most effective and important pollinators.
– Butterflies (Lepidoptera): They are responsible for pollinating plants with large fragrant flowers.
– Hummingbirds (Trochilidae): They pollinate plants that have tubular flowers, rich in nectar.
– Bats (Chiroptera): They also pollinate large fragrant flowers, especially in tropical America.
