The Simple Soap Bar Trick
Here’s another surprisingly easy way to keep your toilet fresh, using a simple bar of soap. This also works inside the toilet tank for gentle, ongoing cleaning.

Here’s how to do it:

“Put a little bar of soap in a thin sock.” A clean, old sock works perfectly.
“Secure the sock’s mouth shut” so the soap stays inside.
“The next step is to insert the soap sock into the tank of the toilet.” It’s important to place it right. “Take note: the soap must not settle to the bottom.”
To keep it floating, “Set the sock on its end on the tank’s edge and cover it with the lid to maintain its suspension in the water.”
Over time, “Dissolving the soap into the water is a gradual process.”
Just like with the plastic bottle, “Pressing the toilet flush button releases soapy water, which helps remove grime and” leaves a fresh smell. This is a gentle way to keep things clean and smelling nice.
